Sammons Receives Rite Aid President’s Award
At a surprise June 15th ceremony to honor her for her 10-1/2 years as Rite Aid President and then CEO, Mary Sammons received the very award she created in 2000: The President’s Award. Rite Aid President John Standley, who would become CEO eight days later, presented Sammons with the award, the highest recognition the company can give an associate.
The award’s inscription reads: “Her vision and optimism led our company through both exciting and trying times. She taught us the importance of taking care of customers, believing in associates and walking the talk.”
Sammons continues to serve Rite Aid as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
