Rite Aid’s Miracle Balloon Campaign Raises $4.9 Million for CMN Hospitals


As they have for the past 20 years, Rite Aid associates and supplier partners are demonstrating their passion for being a caring neighbor by raising millions in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. With the company celebrating its 20th year as a CMN Hospitals sponsor, Rite Aid’s year-round fundraising efforts are off to a strong start thanks to a seven-week paper Miracle Balloon campaign that raised more than $4.9 million.

While Miracle Balloon sales represent the majority of funds raised by Rite Aid each year, Rite Aid associates and supplier partners raise hundreds of thousands of additional dollars through special events like golf tournaments and carnivals (see related article, “Corporate Golf Outing Doubles Last Year’s Contribution to CMN Hospitals”). To date, these events have already raised an additional $850,000— bringing this year’s total to more than $5.7 million and counting!

“I would like to thank our associates and our business partners for the passion and enthusiasm they display during our annual Miracle Balloon campaign and for their efforts throughout the year,” said President and COO Ken Martindale. “Whether it involves special fundraising events or asking every customer if they would like to buy a Miracle Balloon, the Rite Aid team has proven once again that they care deeply about supporting the families of sick and injured children in the communities we serve.”

Heading forward, we remain as focused as ever on hosting special events to raise even more money for CMN Hospitals throughout the rest of the calendar year.
