Enthusiastic Rite Aid associates demonstrated their commitment to helping sick and injured children receive expert medical care at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during Rite Aid’s 2016 Miracle Balloon campaign, which ran March 13—April 30, with a special one-week extension through May 7 as part of CMNH’s “May is for Miracles” initiative.

During the eight-week campaign, Rite Aid associates asked every customer if they would like to purchase a $1 paper Miracle Balloon. To show appreciation, those who contributed received $7 in coupons for a variety of items sold at Rite Aid.

Throughout the year, Rite Aid associates also organize special community events, such as car washes and yard sales, to raise additional funds.

Rite Aid supplier partners also join with associates nationwide to support many golf outings and events, including the 14th Annual CMNH golf tournament to be held May 23 in Camp Hill, Pa.

Supplier partners also actively support Rite Aid’s annual Executive Car Wash for CMNH—now in its 17th year—where members of Rite Aid’s management team spend the day washing cars and competing in an obstacle course outside the company’s headquarters in Camp Hill, Pa.

“In 2015, thanks to our caring associates, supportive customers and generous supplier partners, Rite Aid raised $6.3 million for the 95 local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals we support across the country,” said Ken Martindale, Rite Aid CEO of stores, president of Rite Aid Corporation and president of The Rite Aid Foundation. “Rite Aid is proud of its longstanding relationship with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and we look forward to another successful campaign this year, raising much-needed funds to benefit the sick and injured children in the communities we serve.”

Since becoming a partner in 1994, Rite Aid supplier partners have helped Rite Aid raise more than $75 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, making Rite Aid the organization’s sixth largest corporate partner. All funds raised support CMN Hospitals in providing pediatric equipment, treatments, research, therapy programs and charitable care benefiting local sick and injured kids.

“Rite Aid is a phenomenal partner in our efforts to raise funds and awareness for children’s hospitals. As charities, children’s hospitals rely on donations to provide much-needed equipment, treatments and charitable care for kids,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Support from Rite Aid customers, associates and their supplier partners ensures kids in their communities have the care they deserve.”
