Rite Aid Recognizes 2017 Supplier Partners of the Year for Outstanding Collaboration

Each year, Rite Aid recognizes and honors supplier partners whose efforts have had a significant impact on business during the year. These “Supplier Partner of the Year” awards were announced recently at the Annual Supplier Conference, held this year in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Distribution Tony Montini joined Senior Vice President of Marketing John Learish in presenting the “Supplier Partner of the Year” awards to three supplier partners who have demonstrated thoughtful creativity, an excellent approach to collaboration and outstanding attention to detail.

This year’s Supplier Partners of the Year award winners are Chattem, Constellation Brands and Pfizer.

“Our collaboration with these supplier partners set a high bar for success,” Montini remarked. “I congratulate and thank them, along with all of our valued supplier partners, for their dedication to excellence and outstanding contributions to our mutual business.”

In addition to unique and differentiating go-to-market strategies, the Chattem sales team provides a steady stream of relevant new healthcare products that have produced meaningful category growth for Rite Aid.

“Chattem’s strong analytics are the foundation of meaningful outcomes, and the team integrates 1010 data into all meetings in a way that is extremely beneficial in assortment decisions,” Montini said. “The company has grown at a rapid pace over the past several years to become one of our most valued and respected supplier partners.”

With a portfolio that includes a substantial representation of premium and above brands, Constellation Brands continues to be a major supplier that is uniquely positioned to meet the continued shifting of consumer preferences to high-end brands.

“Constellation Brands has been an active and engaged participant in the Joint Business Planning process to help ensure that, together, we achieve our mutual goal of increasing Rite Aid’s share of premium and above subclasses,” Montini said. “This supplier partner has consistently outperformed in both beer and wine for the most recent year to date and is once again turning in a very solid financial performance with an increase in their total portfolio sales and an increase in gross margin dollars.”

Pfizer’s culture supports transparent, yet constructive conversations that lead to better results and an exceptionally strong partnership.

They are a partner in every sense of the word.”
