Rite Aid Announces Special CMN Balloon Campaign
After raising more than $3.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals this spring, Rite Aid is looking to add to that total with a special 4-week paper miracle balloon campaign to be held during the back-to-school shopping season.
The company hopes to raise at least $1 million during the special campaign, which begins Aug. 15. The special CMN campaign marks the first time Rite Aid has sold paper miracle balloons beyond the annual seven-week campaign held each spring.
“The difficult economy has affected everyone, including the families of sick and injured children who are cared for at CMN hospitals,” says Public Relations Manager Ashley Flower. “Now more than ever, children’s hospitals need our help to provide the crucial care and services they’re known for. This special campaign is a way for us to help CMN hospitals do even more for the kids and their families.”
During miracle balloon campaigns, associates at the registers ask customers if they would like to donate to CMN. Those who donate receive a paper miracle balloon and customers write their name on the top half, which is displayed at the store.
The bottom half of each balloon contains $6 in coupons. For the special campaign, Rite Aid suppliers stepped up to offer new discounts that are different from those offered during the spring campaign. Rite Aid suppliers stepped up efforts to offer discounts on school suppliers, perfect for the back-to-school shopping season.
The new miracle balloons include $1 discounts towards any Sharpie Pen two-pack, Revenue Creations computer accessory, Xerox paper, Rite Aid Verizon phone card, Right Guard Total Defense 5 deodorant or any Coppertone product.
Since 1994, Rite Aid has raised more than $45 million for CMN.
