Redesigned Online Store Signals New Era of eCommerce for Rite Aid
Customers visiting RiteAid.com can now enjoy a more convenient, integrated and personalized online shopping experience thanks to recent eCommerce enhancements made to the Rite Aid Online Store.
“Our online shoppers are just as important to us as the customers who shop in our stores,” said Vice President of eCommerce Dean Bowerman. “Through our newly redesigned Rite Aid Online Store, we can deliver a stronger online shopping experience that strengthens our brand and further engages customers in our wellness+ program.”
Unveiled to customers on Oct. 7, the newly redesigned online store includes “single sign on” functionality through customers’ RiteAid.com accounts, one-page checkout and the ability to earn points and redeem discounts through the wellness+ customer loyalty program. Customers can make purchases with any major credit card or PayPal.
The seamless shopping experience begins as soon as shoppers log in to their wellness+ account on RiteAid.com – they won’t need to log in again to shop or make a purchase. This “single sign on” feature honors wellness+ tier discounts, status points, +UP and Load2Card rewards, which can now be both earned and redeemed online. Wellness+ tier discounts include special discounts days such as wellness65+ Wednesdays and Associate Appreciation Days.
The personalized experience continues as shoppers browse deals from the weekly circular, which are automatically loaded on the website when they log in to their wellness+ account. Shoppers can search by brand or category, and can even browse brand “landing pages” – pages that are designed in conjunction with Rite Aid supplier partners and specifically tailored to the needs of our customers.
The payment process is also streamlined with a one-page checkout process and the option for “one-click checkout” through PayPal – and all of the customer’s +UPs and Load2Card rewards that have been loaded on their wellness+ card will be applied automatically to their online shopping cart when they check out.
Also at checkout, shoppers are given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in their communities by rounding up their purchase and donating the change to KidCents.
