Chainwide Survey Gives Associates Opportunity To Rate Working At Rite Aid

Associates have a valuable opportunity to give Rite Aid candid and confidential feedback by participating in the 2010 Associate Engagement Survey, which can be taken over the phone 24 hours a day through Jan. 16.

More than 70 percent of Rite Aid associates took the most recent survey in September 2008, and the company is hoping even more associates participate this January. All Rite Aid associates, including those who work at stores, field management offices, distribution centers or corporate locations, are invited to take the survey.

“Our goal is to have a higher percentage of associates take the survey than in previous years,” says Vice President of Field Human Resources Kristin Crandall.

“When more associates take the survey, we can better understand what associates appreciate about our company and where there are opportunities for improvement.”

The survey takes about 5 to 10 minutes and, at the end, gives associates up to 60 seconds to leave comments.

Rite Aid scheduled the survey, previously held each September, for January so that the busy holiday season would not interfere with compiling and distributing results, Crandall says. As a result, the company plans to distribute results to the store or department level more quickly this year, targeting delivery for March.

For the first time this year, managers may access survey results through the Rite Report, which will be more convenient for them, Crandall says. In addition, store-level survey results from the pharmacy and front end will be combined into one report to reflect the company’s “one store, one team” philosophy.

Once survey results are compiled and released, managers and above will access the results, hold feedback meetings with their teams and complete an action plan, which outlines how they will address areas of concern.
