Business Integrity Important for Rite Aid and Suppliers
In today’s business environment, it’s important to acknowledge that the highest level of ethics, honor and respect for others governs the way Rite Aid does business and that those who do business with Rite Aid share the same code of ethics.
“Rite Aid’s good name and reputation are just as important as the products and services it provides to its customers,” says Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer Tony Bellezza.
According to Bellezza, Rite Aid’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct has guided the way the company and its suppliers have done business for a long time.
“Ethics, honor and respect for others are every bit as important to our future as our financial performance,” says Bellezza. “Operating with integrity allows us to provide the most competitive products and the highest level of service to our customers.”
In an effort to continue to maintain a high degree of integrity in the way it conducts business, Rite Aid has launched a new and improved Hotline for business partners, customers and associates.
With the debut of the new RITECALL Hotline, Rite Aid’s stakeholders have an easy and confidential way to voice their concerns involving suspected violations of Rite Aid’s Code of Ethics, HIPAA regulations, privacy policies, human resources matters, or suspected fraud, waste or abuse.
The RITECALL Hotline is an avenue for all stakeholders, including supplier partners, to report their concerns confidentially to a third-party professional who will direct it to the appropriate party for investigation. Suppliers can choose to report a concern anonymously and follow-up communications, if any, are secured by a unique case number and PIN.
Bellezza considers the hotline to be an essential part of the company’s governance structure.
“Undetected or unreported violations of policy or laws can be very costly and can result in damage to Rite Aid’s good name and reputation in the communities we serve,” Bellezza says. “By reporting a concern, our business partners may protect themselves, their company, our customers and Rite Aid from further injury or harm.”
Reports to the hotline are now handled 24/7 by professionals at Ethics Point – a third-party group – at 1-888-RITECALL (1-888-748-3225) or online at riteaid.ethicspoint.com. A link to the online service is also available at the bottom of every page on RiteAid.com.
